They say there is nothing better than the smell of gunpowder in the morning but a bright red guitar on a music stage goes one better for me.
I love going along to live music gigs and so Southern Fried Sundays which happens on the last Sunday each month was a revelation.
An event that starts at 6pm (music 7-9pm) on a Sunday afternoon is also good for those of us with families and I was delighted to see a gaggle of kids sitting on the floor at the front for the first few sets. Kings Arms appears to have a family license.
“Dianne Swann and Brett Adams are the Bads. Mike Hall is solo , he is from Night Choir , Th Barnshakes are an outfit led by Marcus , Gin Wigmores bass player
Description
Last sunday of every month at the kings arms, join Bernie Griffen and three great bands for a great evening of entertainment!”
Mike Hall was first up. I know him mostly from Steve Abels band and Pluto. Bernie Griffen took me back in time to about 1947 and even though it is 2012 it feels like being in a shotgun shack time travelling machine.
The Bads have a new album called “Travel Light” coming. Based on what I heard it is essential. Brett Adams and Dianne Swann seems to have slipped under that radar a bit but you can say you heard about them here and
