One of the best parts of my work is getting up close on some really cool projects like TEDXAuckland.
Anyone who has met me has probably been offered 30 or 40 TED videos on a DVD I just happen to have with me.
(Sorry but those videos are better than 90% of the MBA’s around.) At TEDxSydney one of the highlights was a series of drawings called graphic notes by Gavin Blake.
As I am a big fan of mindmaps these are the absolute business so persoanlly looking forward to this part of the programme.
“Here’s a treat. You may have noticed an illustrator set up with a white board in the foyer at CarriageWorks. His name was Gavin Blake aka Fever Picture and we retained him for the TEDxSydney 2010 Forum as someone to visually document each speaker presentation. Here’s what he came up with … each done in real time during the talk”
Best news is that Gavin will doing his wonderful drawings at TEDxAuckland on Sept 26th.
Gavin Blake is a Visual Communicator.
“At TEDxAuckland he is operating as a Graphic Recorder. He has recently partnered with TEDx in Sydney in May and will be at TEDx Canberra in October. In 2011 he has his sights on every major city TEDx in Australia and New Zealand.
Dubbed Graphic Notes, his drawings enable participants to remember the whole experience as a series of images. His drawings will be available for viewing during breaks on the day. He is delighted to be back in New Zealand doing what he loves. Watch it unfold on the day. This is really cool work.”
